Dunes and Panamints

A wide angle view showing the Mesquite Flats playa and dunes in the foreground with the start of the Devil's Cornfield visible towards the left hand edge of the image. Tucki Mountain and the Cottonwood Mountains are in the background to the left and right, respectively. Stovepipe Wells is below the level of the dunes and a bit towards the right of center, and the entrance to Mosaic Canyon is on the right hand slopes going up Tucki Mountain.

 

One of the few parts of the day with a relatively clear sky overhead and soft diffuse light below.
