Lonely Tree
In the mid 1970s this dead tree stood on the very top of a hill overlooking artichoke fields just east of Highway 1 along the coast of California south of Monterey. This dead tree was an iconic image for me - I passed it many times, and I always anticipated the view of it standing alone against the skyline. Finally one day I pulled off the road, climbed through the pasture up to it, and took a few photographs. I like this one the best.
Original image shot in 1974 or 1975 on Kodak Plus-X film. The negative was damaged by time and wear and poor archiving on my part, but I managed to restore it to this level with the help of Photoshop and many hours. Enjoy!
