Power

Winter waves in the Pacific can be large and powerful. This was only about a 2 meter wave (large ones in this area can be more than 10 meters in height), but it hit the channel leading to these rocks perfectly, causing an impressive column of spray. Photographed along the northern part of the Big Sur coast of California about 1974 or 1975.

 

I was well-positioned and I didn't get wet, but it was close!
