When Deep Shadows Fall

I was initially attracted by the backlit glow of the remaining leaves on these oak trees. As I was moving around to compose the photo, however, I realized the deep shadows in the foreground were an equal and integral part of the composition. The late evening sky was a bit hazy, which produced a marvelous diffuse light.
