Nap Time

Both my second and third infant schools had nap times for the infants after lunch.

My third infant school had one class for all infants between the ages of 5 - 7 divided into to two groups. When I arrived I was put in the upper group, at nap time our group was allowed to sit at the desks and either listen to the teacher read a story to the younger ones or we could read a book or draw as long as we were quiet.

For either group you were allowed to wear wellington boots in class as long as they were clean, the toilets were outside, it saved a lot of time not having to change when go to the outside lower end of the playground which was often slightly flooded if it had rained earlier.
