We did get some high winds and rough seas from being on the edge of Storm Ali, but nothing like the battering other areas received. Sadly, it has been reported that two people have lost their lives nationally in the storm.
What this clip does capture is the force and speed of the wind whipping up the waves onto the beach and driving the clouds overhead.
I set the camera up on the beach to take 750 images at 1 second intervals which I then processed in Photoshop at 25 fps to make into a short 30 second video clip.
The tide was coming in and the wind whipped up the waves creating the powerful white horses.
A couple of people, walked out on the stone outfall but quickly came back to the safety of the shore and the windsurfers were having a great time with it all.
Lots of trees and fence panels blown over locally.
