Solent "Shanty Town" Sunset

Solent "Shanty Town" Sunset

These buildings along the Solent coast are rather unkindly referred to as the "Shanty Town". They are more permanent than wooden beach huts but do not have all mains services connected. Some do not have electricity and rely on gas lighting or solar power and batteries.

However, the owners get to see the raw power of the Solent seas and skies every day of the year.

A superb location for photographers and if you just want to relax and watch the world go by, stop here for a while.

I did use a Formatt HiTech Firecrest ND filter on the sky to emphasise the colours.

We had a heatwave. Then we had a few days of rain and storms and now the high temperatures are returning.
