Red sky at night, Shepherds Delight
"Red sky at night, shepherds delight,
Red sky in the morning, shepherds warning"
Old folklore originating from 1395.
A red sky appears when dust and small particles are trapped in the atmosphere by high pressure. This scatters blue light and leaving only red light to give the sky its notable appearance.
Taken last night as sunset fell across the woodlands along the top of Portsdown Hill.
This one from Ella's teatime walk - she might ask for commission later!
