Stanhopea Tigrina Orchid
After a LOT of searching we have finally identified this strange beauty! It is a Stanhopea Tigris Orchid. I have inherited this from Nanna who patiently waited for it to bloom for about 6 or so years. She was very excited leading up to it's first flowering in Jan/Feb 2000. Sadly it flowered for the first time a few days after she passed away in Feb 2000 - so she never got to see it in flower.
Somewhat alien looking flowers, with an amazingly strong perfume which could be described as a vanilla/cinnamon/chocolate scent. Flowers for about 3 days in late summer.
