Growing into Life
This image is from a shoot I did in London last month and it's perfect for this idea I have had that I have been wanting to do for such a long time now. Its about growing in to the life we live after going through big changes. In a way its about feeling a little more rooted because big changes make you feel like a plant thats been taken out of its pot or pulled up from the soil. Much as we complain about the sameness of our lives there is a comfort in sameness that we don't appreciate until its gone. For me to create my work I need sameness. I need the routine of sitting down every day to work. I can't work if I'm upset or too happy!! Things have to feel balanced for me to create and I guess this image portrays that I am feeling a little more rooted and balanced in my life right now and I'm loving the sameness of everyday more than ever since I have seen the other side of that coin in my past. Im excited about what the future holds but not so excited that I cant work lol. I'm holding a workshop in the morning in Dublin and I have plans for the next few months which will keep me busy.
