9 Regiment Apache's deployed to Wattisham in early 2006 for exercise "Herrick Eagle" during which a FARP was established in the old Hardened Aircraft Shelters that remain from the RAF F-4 days. Late on the sunday afternoon six Dishforth AH's taxied to the FARP in the dying sun. Nearly two years later, all Dishforth's Apache's are based here.
