Butler Lightning
Getting pictures of lightning is not as easy as you think. You have to do a time exposure. You have to set the light setting just right, then mother nature has to cooperate which more often than not, she doesnt. Storms usually has a lot of cloud to cloud lightning in which you dont see the bolts of lightning. All you see are the clouds lighting ups which obscures any bolts of lighting that can be seen. Once in awhile though, you hit the jackpot. The best time exposure I got of lighting is this photo I took from the old freight deck on the west side of Butler Station in Butler, NJ in July of 1995.
