Aruncus dioicus (Goat's Beard)

Day long trip up to the Blue Ridge Parkway in western North Carolina to photograph the early Summer wildflowers. The sun was in and out when it wasn't threatening thunderstorms, but all in all, it was a very successful day.

I began the day in upper Greenville County, South Carolina and worked my way north through the Pisgah National Forest to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The star of the show was the Turk's-cap Lily. It seems that they are increasing in numbers from year to year.
