Geranium thunbergii (Thunberg's Geranium) + Halictid bee

Quick visit to the Pisgah National Forest in Transylvania County near Brevard, North Carolina.

Last year, a friend posted some images of this wonderful wildflower from a nearby location, and I managed to find it growing in the forest. On this visit, I noticed a swarm of beautifully iridescent Halicted bees feverishly pollinating this wildflower species. The color on these tiny bees is remarkable, and I was pleased to be able to capture some of them at work.
