Tree removal

The excitement began this moring at 6:30 am when the tree removal crews came to cut down our 75-year old oak trees to make way for the relocation of a large house several blocks away.

 

After the trees were removed, all of the power lines, power poles, street signs and stop signs were also removed.

 

The move was successful if a bit slow (1/2 mile per hour at top speed). The house was moved on 16, selff-propelled, 8-wheel dollies which were designed and built by the moving company. It was stop and go so that there would be absolutely no problems with the turns and travel.

 

Finally, the house was put into its new location after about 8 hours of work. It was probably a once-in-a-lifetime event for us folks on Mills Avenue in Greenville, South Carolina...
