Cincinnati OH Engine 2

Cincinnati OH Engine 2

1947 Seagrave

1000 GPM - 100 Tank

Shop #25168 Seagrave #C-8855

Went in service on April 18, 1947.

When this photo was taken the 2's were still in their firehouse at 9th Ave. & Freeman St. in the West End (They are now miles away on Seymour Ave. in Carthage). They were a busy company probably making 600 runs a year. That doesn't sound like much but out of those 600 runs they probably came close to getting a fire a day.

I love seeing the nozzles adapters and other equipment mounted on the running board.

Under the front bumper you can see a black rectangle with a large number 2 on it. Most CFD companies had these.

Just over the headlight on the drivers side their is a siren/light mounted on the fender. That was the only warning device on this apparatus.
