Hardy waterlily Red Spider

In the pursuit of inflicting cruel and unusual punishment on hapless unsuspecting waterlilies, this should serve as an example. Hardy waterlily Nymphaea Red spider is lapping up the full repetoire of gratuitous acts of benign neglect

Spring beckons a handsome bevy of lilypads with handsome speckled markings and rustic brown tones which give way to plainer green tones as the first puff of Summer heat starts to shimmer on the water

Set upon a two gallon pot in shallow water, well shaded, on a pond where the water level fluctuates some, crowded some by Cabomba and brutish cattails, this tortured example gets full shade most of the day with a brief blast of full sun for a few hours at midday

One of the days I'll give it a break and provide it with its first ever feed, but then, most of the hardies seem to plunk along moderately well, doing sedate blooms without any nudging

Regards, andy
