SML1 is captured entering Harrogate Bus Station on the 77 from Wetherby via Sicklinghall in May 1968. According to my timetable, this must have been a Tuesday or a Saturday. This sparse service ran one journey from Harrogate to Sicklinghall and back daily and was then supplemented by other buses on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at different times. This was one of four Bedford Vams purchased in 1967 and, as far as I know, other than the WYRCC quartet, only Eastern Counties and Western National took the same chassis/body combination and only then in penny numbers. The LH body was well adapted for this use.
