Painted Crates
Wooden Crates Transformed
1) Buy 3 unpainted wooden crates ($9.95 Walmart for a 9x12x18 inch crate)
2) stain crates with Ebony (or stain of choice)
3)Let dry overnight
4) slap on 1 layer of acrylic paint (my color is: Meandering Dusty Lane- to normal people that would be TAN)
5) let dry
6) using the printer copy/wax paper transfer method put images on the ends of the crates (I used simple black ink wine labels-6 total I didn't want my ends to match)
6.5) I also stamped a number on the sides and bottoms of my crates but you can't see those in the photos
7) sand and scuff various edges and areas with sandpaper
8) clean off sanding dust
9) take outside and spray with clear paint
10) let dry
11) find somewhere in the house to display the crate- stack and fill as you need them. (Mine are being used as a bookshelf in my bedroom.)
