white noise

when i lived over 7th avenue in nyc i had rubber-lined curtains to block out the sound of local fire engines and the ongoing traffic. i probably tried a white noise machine too, i can't remember. anyway, my barn pictures are starting to put me to sleep. mid-winter somnambulating. too bad it doesn't work when i actually want to go to sleep.
