broken for good, i’m afraid; jammed in there between g and j. at first i thought, who cares, what’s a crummy h in the overall scheme of things? he’s not a major player like s or m. no charming screwball value like z or !. then i started speculating: what if they abolished certain letters forever… due to budget cuts or our evolving inability to decode or our lust for abbreviation? what then? i think i’d miss h a lot more than i thought. and so, for your delight and consideration, i give you a parade of the essence of h-ness: hoedown, heartbreak, hasheesh, hysterical, him, halloween, hush, hahahhahahhahha, hyperventilate, hot dog, hangdog, headcheese, halcyon, heathen, hub bub, hemorrhoidal, hey, humdinger, harem pants, homey, hockey, hernia, haptic, hicksville, heinous, hornswoggle, h-bomb. see what i mean?
