i love that he's 12 and still likes pirate flags. i love that he still digs holes in the beach and kids flock like gulls around a tuna sandwich to help out. i love that the sign said "killer current" and my kids didn't get killed. i love that the giant garden shovel responsible for this was squeezed in our ski rack for the whole trip and didn't pop out and land on someone's windshield. i love that these kids stood there and did nothing but watch the sea for almost five minutes.
