Shellfish - in saltwater
One evening, we went to the beach to find shellfish, embedded in the sand in the shallow parts of the sea (where the waves hit the shore). you need to wade in and use your toes to feel for the shell, then bend down to pick it up with fingers before the next wave comes crashing in. If you put the shell into salt water, the shellfish will come out (as shown in photo above). To cook, leave the shells overnight in salt water and remove the shellfish the next day (see next photo). Talk about hunting for your dinner.
