Slippery Slopes

I love where I live.

 

These rocks are covered with mussels and the gulls were busy feeding on them. I spent an amusing hour watching them trying to land on the slippery surface and then dodging the incoming waves. This gull did not get a solid grip and slid off of the rock backwards, taking a tumble to the sand. After landing, he stood up, shook the sand off his body, and looked around as if to see if anyone witnessed his little "accident".
