All the better if there is a very helpful assistant or shop owner who can give the right kind of advice……’ Perhaps Madam would like to try this….’ ‘ Madam looks even more perfect with that’… ‘ Madam will be so pleased to see herself now in the mirror’… You know the sort of assistance I mean…And I can always trust a friendly companion for final reassurance, should it be needed.
Even a place that looks a little drab can deliver the most surprising bargains. Once suitably accessorised, and absolutely satisfied with my selection, I can look into my purse… and lo and behold! The price seems trifling….
Yes, reliable millinery and accessories can come to a lady’s rescue- and more than once, I can vouch for that!
Now where we? (To a dear companion, sotto voce) Do you think the glove matches the hat? Just let me look again for a second...........
