Approaching Farringdon in 1971
In view of the present Crossrail work I thought this photo might be of interest. An Outer Rail Circle train of C69 stock (car 5516 leading) is approaching Farringdon. Nearer the camera, the Widened Lines dip down towards the Ray Street Gridiron. I assume the car park is on the site of the former LNER goods depot - a short stub of siding seems to have been left in place.
