Unit 4001 (still in green livery though with all-yellow ends) is on an up empty stock working (4002 was behind).
Note the characteristic recess round the guard's door.
Maisonettes of Bursdon Close (then fairly new) are in the background.
The concrete footbridge, where I often used to watch trains as a child, replaced a footpath level crossing after the line was electrified.
