I drove to the post office and then out the street it is on, wound up near a dead end and did a U and spotted this scene. Did a quick, simple sketch, working on Aquabee Super Deluxe sketchbook, 4x6". Love that paper!
I noticed a couple things: (1) I really need a larger sketchbook. The small one is cute, but I need some support for my hand as I draw in order to draw my best. (2) It was warm, nearly hot, and dry in my car. The watercolor puddles on my palette dried just about as soon as I put them on the palette and on my paper. Not good. I usually like a quite wet mix to paint onto the paper, so that I can blend other colors in while it is still wet. As you can see in the little yellowish tree at the left, the added yellow greens didn't blend much, just sat there.
Oh well, I like it anyway.
