Coming Home to Hull

Those of you with good memories may remember a shot I posted in September 2009 of the start of the Clipper round the world race. Well ten months and 35,000 miles later, yesterday all ten boats returned safely with great excitement to Hull. This is a shot of the Hull Clipper that came fourth in the race heading down the River Humber. All the crews of the ten boats need congratulations for completing the ten month journey often in some very fierce seas. Apart from the skippers of the boats all the crews were amateurs. For those of you interested the final positions were

First ... Australia

Second ... Finland

Third Cape .... Breton Island

Fourth ... Hull and Humber

The last boat was from California

Hull was overflowing yesterday with thousands of visitors from all over the world to welcome the boats and crews home

The shot is not special but I wanted to record an image of the event
