As you may be able to read from the note under the picture the post office with it's distinctive dormer windows is still there to this day. At one time Gillespies Esso garage was just next door.
I showed this picture to my dad who is in his 70's he says that the small item on the extreme left was a drinking fountain it had a cup connected by a chain. He also said that the road to the right that the lady is standing goes to underwood lock note the sign in the more recent photo
