Infant face rash, allergic reaction to methylisothiazolinone

Babies are frequently sensitized through exposure to MIT through baby wipes and other "sensitive skin" products.

Methylisothiazolinone and its variants benzisothiazolinone, methylchlorisothiazolinone and octylisothiazolinone are found in almost all home cleaners and personal products. It is a class of preservative that was originally tested to be safe but has proven to be causing a global epidemic of contact dermatitis.

It is frequently misdiagnosed as eczema, rosacea, lupus and other conditions.
