Trevose Head Lighthouse, Cornwall, England

This 89 foot high circular tower lighthouse on the atlantic north coast of Cornwall was built in 1847. Originally there were two lights, the second lower light at about the base of the tower. This was to distinguish this lighthouse from the sea, but this was demolished around 1882. The huge first order Fresnel type lens is original and provides a flashing white light visible for about 20 miles. The light was automated in 1995 and the keeper's quarters converted into holiday house rentals.
