Yes! We Have No Bananas

So there I was... after the eye doctor's. Eyes dilated wearing sunglasses in the grocery store. Had a short list... bananas...oh, my... no bananas None. Next aisle... what the.... no meat.

Got eggs and bread and creamer...

Took the two shots and made an abstract.

The eyes are dilated, yeah, that's my excuse.

Anyway it reminded me of a song my dad used to sing...

"Yes! We Have No Bananas" is the title of a novelty song by Frank Silver and Irving Cohn from the 1922 Broadway revue Make It Snappy. Sung by Eddie Cantor in the revue, the song became a major hit in 1923 (placing No. 1 for five weeks) when it was recorded by Billy Jones, Arthur Hall, Irving Kaufman, and others.

Interestingly enough there was a banana shortage 100 years ago due to a blight that nearly wiped out the entire banana industry...

...thinking the shortage today is due to another blight.
