The Writing Cabin
Week 33/52: Architecture (Aug 12th - Aug 18th)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Today I was in Austerlitz, New York and had the wonderful opportunity to be able to walk on the grounds of the place where Edna St. Vincent Millay lived. There I discovered a humble cabin that delighted me and found the piece of architecture for this week's theme. This is where Edna went to write.
She died October 19, 1950, in Austerlitz, New York.
Edna St. Vincent Millay was an American lyrical poet and playwright. She received the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1923, the third woman to win the award for poetry, and was also known for her feminist activism. She used the pseudonym Nancy Boyd for her prose work.
