Straight-billed Reedhaunter (Limnoctites rectirostris)

Bagé, RS, Brazil.

This is a rare and localized furnariid, strongly tied to wetlands dominated by Eryngium ("gravatá").

Endemic to southern Brazil, Uruguay and northeastern Argentina, this secretive bird is often difficult to spot, which makes capturing a full-body view like this all the more rewarding.
