Having caught the programmes of What Britain Sells & Buys in a day ! This photo sprung to mind .. The size of these ships and containers, taking and bringing produce from over the Atlantic /the World ,sometimes fully laden but often not . Although the cargo hold below deck is hopefully full ..
The figures are mind boggling but depict that this nation of ours exports far less than we import ! Our own produce apparently is far to expensive , in some cases , for us to buy in our own country ..eg Crab caught in Kingsbridge in Devon, 80 % of huge amounts caught are exported to China and the Far East, which brings in great revenue .
With Brexit dare I say it, it will be very interesting to see next weeks programme which centres on the car making industry ..
