Ancient times!
This is quite the old olive tree. I would guess a minimum age of 1500 years old. It is in a place you can only get to by walking a few hours or by boat. The stone you see the olive tree hugging belongs to an ancient town here. There was a town that traded and has an asclepio, which is a temple for healing physical and spiritual. This place is one of my most favorite places in Crete, and it is off the beaten track.
