Haynes Library on Eleuthera, Bahamas

Governor's Harbour, Eleuthera.

This library was built in 1896 and 1897. It was named after, and dedicated by Governor Haynes-Smith in 1897. At some point in the 20th Century, the library was closed, and eventually was slated for demolition, but a community group intervened in the early 90s and major renovations and restoration were completed by the end of the decade.
