Battery Davis, Gun 1

An oblique low altitude kite assisted aerial photograph, Fort Funston, San Francisco. Canon A570is, SDM with accelerometer trigger across the USB port, gentLED 360 for stepped pan.

Or is it Gun 2?

This is the first casemated heavy caliber battery in the United States, finished in 1939. The two batteries at Fort Funston are connected by underground tunnels and once held 16-inch guns originally meant for a battle cruiser. They were operated by a 35 man crew until they were scrapped in 1948. They had a range of 26 miles (just reaching the Farallon Islands), and were meant to be a deterrent to attacks on San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate. They were fired only in drills.
