By lack of Dribbble...
This is the scratch homepage of a multilingual dating application we're developing for one of Europe's largest lesbian communities. It's integrated into its ExpressionEngine-based website which we're also building, and it's developed on top of the excellent CodeIgniter PHP framework.
The decision to develop a dating app ourselves was easily made after doing some research on existing applications, both freely available as open source software or as payware. The client also had some special demands. All the stuff we found simply was either too heavy in terms of functionality, topping out over the client's budget or simply horrible to look at ;)
Developing the app on CodeIgniter alowed me to make rapid progress during the project. It only took me 48 hours to delevop the app, design its user interface according to the website's design (which I also did in the weeks before) and deploy it for testing!
Launch is expected to take place this week, and we'll be collecting feedback for improvements from then on. Again, because the app was built on top of CodeIgniter, it's quite easy for any developer to implement changes in its easy-to-understand MVC architecture.
