romanesque details of church of San Pietro, Tuscania

The church of San Pietro in Tuscania, Lazio, Italy was begun in the 8th century and was renovated in the 11th-12th century in the romanesque style.

Here we see carving and mosaic (cosmati) work on the archivolt and column capitals of the right hand side of the east door. The outermost level of the archivolt (in sunlight) features images of the labours of the months and of the zodiac.
