Basilica of St Sernin, Toulouse

The Basilica of St Sernin in Toulouse is a Romanesque abbey church, built in brick between 1080-1120 on the site of the former 4th century basilica which was created to house the relics of St Saturnin (Sernin), the first bishop of Toulouse, who died in about 250.

Seen here is its five-tiered bell tower; the lower three tiers were built in the 12th century while the upper two were added in the 14th. The spire came in the 15th century.
