dedication to Wiligelmus on Modena Cathedral

Modena Cathedral is in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy.

Begun in 1099, the cathedral was consecrated in 1184 and was built in the Romanesque style under the direction of master builder Lanfranco.

The celebrated relief carvings (e.g. of Adam and Eve) on the west facade were created by Wiligelmo (or Wiligelmus), whose work is commemorated in this inscription which appears between relief carvings of the prophets Enoch and Elias.
