inner bailey wall at Crèvecœur-en-Auge

Crèvecœur-en-Auge is a collection of preserved mediaeval buildings - a castle and surrounding buildings - in Normandy, France.

This picture shows the 12th century curtain wall protecting the inner bailey of the castle, where the Lord had his private residence. It is further protected by a moat, which lies behind the wooden cart in this picture.
