sweet chariot

Triumphal chariot from the festival of Santa Rosalia, the patron saint of Palermo. This would have been the centrepiece of the evening procession on 14th July, the night before the saint's day.

 

Sadly I wasn't in Palermo to see the festival, but instead happened to walk past the chariot standing outside the Teatro Politeama Garibaldi, presumably before going into storage.
