Fellowship Is Life
Inscription on facade of Walthamstow Assembly Hall. It was built as part of the same civic centre - now called Fellowship Square - as the main Walthamstow Town Hall which stands alongside. Designed by architect Philip Dalton Hepworth in an Art Deco style and built between 1938-42.
The full inscription reads "Fellowship is Life and the lack of Fellowship is Death". It is a quotation from designer, poet and activist William Morris who was born in Walthamstow.
