Golden Lane Estate

The block in the background is a new 14-storey residential tower, still under construction, just outside the boundary of the Golden Lane Estate. This will have a new primary school (City of London Primary Academy Islington) in its bottom storeys. Its construction proved controversial with existing Golden Lane residents because it is on the site of a former low-rise school building which did not overlook or overshadow the estate.
