Chrisp Street Market tower

Chrisp Street Market is a shopping precinct and market in Poplar, east London.

Designed by architect Frederick Gibberd, it was built in 1951 - and as such it was the UK's first ever purpose-built shopping precinct. Alongside the Lansbury Estate (within which it sits) it was actually an architectural display project for the Festival of Britain.
