Buildings alongside St Mary of Eton church, Hackney Wick.

St Mary of Eton was built in the 1890s as part of Eton Mission which was an initiative by the private school Eton College to improve the conditions of poor people in East London.

On the lower left is part of the former Eton Mission buildings which have now been converted into apartments.

On the upper right is a modern apartment block built in 2014 in a 'diaper work' geometric brick pattern to complement the original church's Victorian gothic design. It was designed by architect Matthew Lloyd.
