The 26-storey tower block Maydew House in Southwark was completed in 1967. All residents were moved out by 2015 following the discovery of asbestos.
The whole of the Abbeyfield Estate (including Maydew House) is now being redeveloped and modernised. The Bede Community Centre will be demolished and relocated as part of these plans.
